My Artist Inspirations: Xavier Veilhan

Most recent artwork: An installation of various scultpures in the Palace of Versailles in France.

HIs most exciting piece is 'La Carosse'. Shown above.

I really liked the way he juxtaposed his contemporary pieces with the very classical beauty of Versailles. Instead of putting the prime focus on his scultptures, he instead uses them almost as props to enchance the beauty of the surrounding buildings.

Some examples of his other works:

PERCEPTION (Jeff Koons' Puppy)

What do you see?

The image of a puppy recalls one's childhood and youth. But when that image is enlarged the meaning changes, I see the artist's interpretation of a changed or altered perspective.

I see playfulness, life and fun. I see playfulness from my own perception that puppies are playful animals. I see life because of the blossoming flowers and plants and I see fun from the different use of colours.
